Mercer/Smith Ginetta G50

Topcats Racing are pleased to confirm and welcome the return of Mick Mercer to the team for 2011, after a year away.

Mercer established a name for himself in the Britcar Endurance championship when he joined the team in 2003 to race the Marcos Mantis which became a much loved car, taking him to numerous wins and countless memorable drives.

Mercer returns this year though with the Ginetta G50 to test his mettle in class 3 of Britcar GT (now renamed British Endurance Championship, following it’s seal of approval from the MSA) having campaigned the car in the Production category of Britcar in 2010 with his son-in-law, Gary Smith, who will share the drive with Mercer again this year.

Mercer and Smith share the same fine driving credentials which could easily see them win the championship this year.

The Ginetta is currently undergoing  improvements and upgrades which the team hope will give the drivers a significant increase to the cars performance.

The team will also be pleased to welcome back his family who are a dedicated and vital unit to the Mercer/Smith Armoury.
