Topcats Racing is pleased to confirm that Kyle Tilley has joined the team to mount a challenge in the class 2 Marcos Mantis alongside Sam Head in the Britcar MSA British Endurance Championship.
The move marks a major change in direction with his racing career so far, having proved his ability in FF1600 and becoming Castle Combe FF1600 pre ’90 Champion last year having only raced previously in 2009. With it he holds the fastest lap at Thruxton and Castle Combe, the two fastest circuits in Britain.
“I am delighted to be competing in the new MSA Endurance Championship with a team which has the reputation of Topcats Racing. I am looking forward to taming the teams mighty Marcos Mantis and mounting a serious championship challenge with co-driver Sam Head” said Tilley.
The team are delighted that they have been able to confirm such a strong pairing for this year’s championship. “We are very excited about this year, we know that Tilley has the potential to impress and really seems to have a mature head on young shoulders. It’s just a matter of time to settle and adapt to a very different car and environment than he has been used to” Team Principal, Warren Gilbert, said of the young driver.
The first round of the championship is at Silverstone GP on Saturday 26th March.
