Our first Corvette Car Club ‘Saturday Surgery’ went down a storm on Saturday, 14th May. Our ramps were busy all morning and until gone 2pm with free inspections, diagnosing, fault finding and offering advice to Corvette Owner Members of the Corvette Club UK. Thank you to all 40+ Corvette owners who joined us to benefit from our engineers advice and enjoy free bacon rolls and refreshments. Here’s a great selection of pictures that capture the day.
Topcats Racing were delighted with Chris Pearson’s race results on Saturday having imported his lovely Lotus Cortina from Australia last Summer. He entrusted the car to Topcats Racing who set about preparing the car, ready for racing this season.
He had only driven the car a couple of hundred metres on site at the workshop to try it out before going straight into qualifying for the Classics Sports Cars Club’s Historic ‘Swinging 60’s’ race at a very wet Snetterton. Pearson qualified a fantastic 4th in class and finished the 40 minute race as a solo driver with 3rd in class.
Pearson will build on a very solid first result and we look forward to seeing him receive plenty of silverware in the very near future as his race season progresses.
What a monster event yesterday with the V8UK Full Power Launch 2016! This year’s event exceeded even last years numbers with over 300 cars arriving at Topcats Racing’s workshop facility near Aylesbury, Bucks!
With fantastic weather again, pumping music, V8 noise, food, drink and a dyno to enthral the crowds, which by the way was won by a stunning Camaro blowing the away the nearest rival by 125bhp with a staggering 749bhp!, it was impossible not to have a great time. The highlight? The convoy which may well be one of the biggest in the UK! It snaked up and over the Buckinghamshire hills and through the villages bringing people out of their houses to investigate the rumble! The response was great with waves and thumbs up! Thank you to all the drivers who drove carefully and with respect en route and back to Topcats Racing to enjoy the afternoon in the sunshine.
We would like to thank the boys from the V8UK Club for allowing us to host again this year.
A very big thank you to all those who took the time to make their cars beautiful and bring them to us for the event, some of whom had travelled far to get here. We were delighted to see our TVR, Corvette and Camaro guys arrive in force as well as all others who brought their amazing machines for everyone to view in wonderment!
Just 2 weeks until we host our 2nd Full Power Launch for the V8UK Club on Sunday, 3rd April from 9am until 1pm. Last year we had a ball! The convoy that we ran from our facilities was 1 1/2 miles long from nose to tail through beautiful, winding countryside. The number and range of cars that arrived was spectacular and again this year we will have our own exotic range of race and road cars on display. New this year will be the dyno run to test the most (and least!) powerful c…ars for those that have booked a slot. Please check with V8UK if you would like to book depending on availability.
There will be a number of awards for competitions; favourite car etc.
Bacon and sausage rolls, burgers etc. will be available to purchase on site.Refreshments will be complimentary. Accuweather predicts a dry and sunny day, just like last year so fingers crossed. We look forward to welcoming you on the 3rd April!

Topcats Racing are delighted to announce that they have been appointed official regional distributors and installers for GMR 600 Aston Martin V8 Superchargers. Topcats Racing are ideally, centrally located to serve Aston Martin owners across the Home Counties, London, Oxon, Northants, Warks, West Midlands and the North. Just 10 miles from both junctions 8a and 9 of the M40 and only 40 minutes from the Aston Martin factory at Gaydon.
As a team who are passionate about achieving real performance for race cars and customers road going cars alike, Topcats Racing are very excited to be able to supply Aston Martin V8 owners with a truly dramatic performance boost to their current driving experience.
Topcats Racing are the UK’s leading Chevrolet LS engine conversion specialists for TVR road cars. Transforming their otherwise fragile reliability and lack of power into a reliable, low maintenance and ferociously fast car reflects our ethos that we only offer products that make a real difference to the performance of a car and realise its full potential in a cost effective way. We approached GMR because their ethos is exactly the same as ours.
GMR have earned themselves great accolade from the Aston Martin community and the motoring press having already installed 14 superchargers to customers cars as well as their own V8 Vantage demonstrator, used daily and covering 85k miles since its installation.
Before explaining how the system works, it is important to divulge the enormity of the performance upgrade that is being delivered. That way, we are sure we will already have you hooked.
The 4.3L V8 Vantage offers its owner a ‘comparatively’ stingy 380bhp. Once the GMR 600 super charger is installed and mapped you can wave your supercar pals goodbye with a whopping 583BHP at 7250rpm and 445lbs ft at 3500rpm. Compare that to the V12 Vantage S which has a mere 12lbs ft more but only achieved at 5750rpm! We haven’t even touched on the subject of the 4.7L V8 Vantage brandishing 600+BHP with the same conversion!
Even more astonishing is the superb linear delivery of power through the careful development of their mapping. Around double the torque pins you hard to the back of the seat. You can wring out the max from each gear if you enjoy the drama of wheel spins and smoking tyres or just short shift to a higher gear and let the torque whisk you to the upper echelons of the speedo, unflustered.
There are a few upgrades on the market for Aston Martin V8 Vantage owners but they only offer minimal improvement to performance with the costs exceeding the benefits. So how have GMR achieved it?
The supercharger is the very latest Eaton TVS used in the Jaguar F-Type S Coupe. GMR has developed it’s own ‘Geyser’ water injection system, doing away with the need for an intercooler thus improving efficiency, producing more power for less boost and reducing piston pressure and wear on the engine.
It’s an ingenious concept with several years of development by GMR’s MD, Graham Heane, an extremely talented engineer with an aircraft engineering background. Water is injected into the intake manifold as a fine mist at over 100psi of pressure. As it changes to a vapour it absorbs heat, lowering the temperature in the manifold and also reduces cylinder temperature. This improves the dynamics of the ‘flame front’ so that the fuel/air mixture ignites in a more efficient way and gives the pistons a less violent ‘shove’.
The engine can be run much leaner under load because fuel isn’t being pumped in to reduce in-cylinder temperature. Its water injection system is much more efficient than an intercooler and allows for exceptionally low boost pressure of only 6.5psi, further improving efficiency and longevity.
A good test is to put your hand on the intake manifold after a long run and remarkably, you will find it cool to the touch. Given all these factors, fuel consumption is significantly improved by approximately 20%.
The water is housed in a beautifully crafted 5.3 litre carbon fibre tank. To neatly tie up a complete package, the aesthetics of the installation look like they are Aston Martin factory finished.

Please contact us on 01296 655109 or email email@example.com and we would be delighted to offer you a demonstration drive by appointment.
Complete cost for the drive-in /drive-out supercharger installation is £15,000.00 +VAT with a 50% deposit required at the time of order. 6-8 week lead time before commencement of installation.
Now that we have entered the realms of 2016, the launch of the new TVR is tantalisingly close.
Whilst detailing of the car continues, the latest rendering of the new car looks excitingly true to its word that TVR’s unmistakable DNA will live on.
TVR lover’s hearts will have skipped a beat to receive much longed for news from TVR HQ just before Christmas with further positive news that will undoubtedly be provocative for potential new owners.
Followers and enthusiasts will already know the confirmed construction methods, utilising Gordon Murrays revolutionary i-Stream technology which offers incredible strength and rigidity whilst also extremely lightweight. This makes for a car that will benefit from less wear and tear on components thus reducing running costs, greater performance and fuel economy.
TVR are going another step further though. Whilst the order book remains open for customers even before final details of the car have been announced, and yes there is a certain amount of faith but no risk to buyers deposits involved, TVR have confirmed that those who do place their order before the order book closes will receive their car with the iStream Carbon variant that will be even lighter and stronger and at no extra cost. All customers who place their order before the closing date get the up-spec’d car.
Potential buyers who have not yet committed and are not just looking from the heart but towards future values must surely be giving this more serious consideration.
The punchline, Christmas has been and gone and we are well into the new year. Time will fly almost as fast as the car and TVR have announced that by mid 2016 they will be confirming the location of their new factory, body styling and pricing. This will be the point too at which they will confirm a closing date for the ‘no extra cost’ LE car. Once closed, order confirmations and queue positions will be given to the buyers.

With orders of the new TVR totalling just short of 300, as of Monday this week, since TVR Manufacturing opened their order book in July this year, more exciting news has been released to confirm details of the 2017 cars power plant.
To further encourage potential owners who may be sitting on the fence awaiting more concrete information, the dyno tests for TVR’s new Cosworth engineered Ford Coyote V8 far exceeded expectations when its torque output forced the test equipment to shut down and had to be reconfigured. AUTOCARs news feature and footage from the dyno test can be viewed here: http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/tvr-fires-v8-confirms-le-mans-2017-plans-exclusive-videos
With TVR’s scheduled release of its first road going cars to customers in mid 2017, it will surely be the UK automotive industries most significant moment in the past few years. If the general public haven’t already heard the news of our great British icon, TVR and its return, they will by then!
For the customer whose finger is still hovering over the ‘submit’ button, deposits are guaranteed if you pay by card. We had a fantastic morning on Saturday when we welcomed 40 TVR’s, Corvettes and other sports cars to our Morning on the Ramps event. The ramps where busy from 9am until lunchtime to give car owners the opportunity to get a good look at their cars from underneath and our engineers were able to offer advice on repairs and upgrades, answer any questions and locate any faults or issues with the car.
All owners who had there cars inspected received a comprehensive inspection report by email that they can now keep for their records.
Visitors were free to wander around our workshop and cars and enjoy breakfast and refreshments with other car owners and enthusiasts. We are pleased that our free Topcats Car Club membership was so well received and they will all go on to enjoy the many benefits of becoming a member.
Owing to the success of the event we will hold another one next year with date to be announced.
