The team were excited to introduce three new drivers to their Class 2 entry in the Marcos Mantis for the 2012 Silverstone 24Hr Race. Ian Bankhurst, a successful and well practised 24hr racer. Carlos Arimon, a cool and controlled Spaniard with considerable experience and a competitor in last year’s Silverstone 24hr. The third driver and already very much at home in the team, SEAT Production Cup racer, Paul Black, was taking his overdue opportunity to step into GT racing and after much curiosity, to finally experience the Marcos for himself.
Topcats Racing dominated the Britcar Endurance Championship race at Oulton Park this weekend not only by virtue of their visible presence; the team ran 3 cars in the 3 hour long enduro, but because the team took the lion’s share of the trophies for both overall and class win positions.
Will Topcats ever better the amazing result from the teams two Marcos Mantis GT cars at this year’s Britcar 24Hr Race driven by a truly formidable all-Japanese driver squad in the Class 3 car and the Class 2 sister car that was all set for podium? A heartbreaking turn of events though for the Runnymede Topcats Mosler as they lead into the 20th hour…….
