It’s the 1st of September which marks the countdown to a brand new event that we are very excited to be involved with…TVRCC TVR Noughties on 24th September, here at Topcats Racing!
Organised by TVRCC RO, Alex Gray, the event will celebrate the beautiful and breath-taking T-cars of the Peter Wheeler era when no holds were barred and TVR had their own rule book. Thank goodness for that because these cars look just as spectacular and unconventional now as they did when they left the quirky, curiosity shop that was the Blackpool TVR factory in the ‘noughties’!
As such, these cars and their creators deserve a raucous tribute. If you are a proud owner of one of these cars (all TVR’s are welcome to come and enjoy), don’t miss out on a momentous weekend from Friday 23rd – Sunday 25th September. The weekend programme is detailed below.
We will do our bit to put on a great show and add an injection of excitement at Topcats Racing’s custom built workshop facility on Saturday the 24th when cars from all over the country and Europe will descend upon us, many of which will arrive in convoy from base at Wroxhall Abbey.
We are concocting ideas for competitions, displays, prizes and a range of cars will be on display to treat all car enthusiasts. We will also be operating two of our ramps for the day for free car inspections with our engineers. You will be able to examine your car with them and ask any questions where they will be very happy to offer advice. This will be on a first come, first served basis and a list will be available to add your name.
You do not need to be a member of the TVRCC Club (although they might entice you to join on the day!). You do, however, need to be a TVR owner or someone who is considering buying one.
If you cannot participate in the whole weekend event, you will, of course, be very welcome to come and join us at Topcats Racing on Saturday 24th only.
Weekend details are here:
September 23rd – September 25th

Invited by Alex Gray
Welcome to the first of the TVR “Noughties” Weekends!
What is the Noughties weekend?
The TVR Noughties (“00″) weekend (and no, that is not the TVR naughty weekend!) is a weekend to bring together and celebrate all the marks of TVRs that were designed and made in the last
decade of the Wheeler era – mostly 1999-2006.
It takes place in the beautiful and centrally located Wroxall Abbey Estate in Warwickshire and features an entire weekend of TVR (and non-TVR) events, run-outs and a special visit down to
Topcats Racing (just outside of Aylesbury) for a day of TVR related fun.
And the weekend is not just for TVR enthusiasts! For those of us just interested in a great weekend out – Wroxall Abbey features a fantastic spa, sauna and health club where you can just
relax away the entire weekend with massages, walks, swimming or just plain sleeping around – whatever you like!
Where is the event based?
The event will be based at Wroxall Abbey Estate in Warwickshire.
Wroxall Abbey Hotel & Estate
Warwickshire, CV35 7NB
You will have the run of a 27 acre estate with spa, tennis, pools and sports club facilities.
There are massages, beauty treatments and heated pools to help you relax or just idle the weekend away.
A sample video of the hotel can be found here
What is happening during the weekend?
Here is a quick summary of the planned events for the weekend. The exact details are still being finalised, but will be updated as soon as they are.
Arrival Friday 23rd Sept & Check-in
Arriving on the Friday afternoon or evening, you will be free to check-in and decide on what you want to do before dinner. If enough people arrive early and the weather is good, then there will be the opportunity for a run-out before dinner around the backroads of Warwickshire on a special route prepared by the hotel with cars in mind.
Dinner will start at about 1930-2000 and will comprise of a BBQ on the terrace with dessert.
After dinner, much talking and (moderate – of course!) drinks consumption will take place.
Saturday 24th Sept
There are two main strands of events that will be running on the Saturday. The first is for those who are more petrolhead orientated and like to see power machines at play, whilst the second is for those who prefer a more sedate day out.
>Event track 1<
At about 0930-0945 there will be a run-out down to Topcats Racing just outside of Aylesbury for a specially reserved day out where the focus will be on TVRs, Marcoses, Racing cars and other assorted exotica. Ramps will be available throughout the day for inspections as will food, coffee, detailers, various trader stalls and a dyno-ramp (TBC). There will also be various unique TVRs on display and other items yet to be confirmed.
Various technical talks on engines and racing is also being lined up including: –
– Engine conversions to LS (detailed walkthrough)
– Racing talks
– …and others!
Entry to the event will be limited to attendees of the weekend. Topcat specialists will be on hand all day to offer advice or inspections as needed.
A concourse event will also be run through out the day with prizes going to 3 of the best cars on the day.
The event will run till about 1600 or so, then we will do a lazy run back to Wroxall for the evening event.
>Event track 2<
For those not interested in cars or who just want a nice relaxing day, then all the facilities at Wroxall will be available for your use. See here for more information.
There will be other events available, but these are still being arranged, so please expect an update nearer the time.
Once everyone is back from the day, then we will have a special dinner at about 2000 with a charity auction and dance afterwards.
Sunday 25th Sept

It’s the 1st of September which marks the countdown to a brand new event that we are very excited to be involved with…TVRCC TVR Noughties on 24th September, here at Topcats Racing!
As we ready our venue for the arrival of approximately 200 cars of all makes, models, shapes, sizes and power, we look forward to showing you some of the things that we have going on in our workshop at the moment; TVR LS conversions in progress, completed ones, the infamous 753bhp LS9 Lingenfelter supercharged TVR Sagaris being prepped for the Brighton Speed Trials next weekend, an insane turbocharged Hemi Jeep and a range of other project cars, to which we have worked our magic, that will either be in our workshop or turning up to show off for the event.
We are TVR and Corvette specialists and we specialise in most V8 powered cars. If you want any advice or help with your car, team boss Warren Gilbert will be on hand. Just look for the Topcats shirt!
For the early risers, breakfast bacon or sausage rolls will be ready and waiting and available to purchase when you arrive as will burgers and snacks for the lunchtimers. Free tea, coffee, refreshments and biscuits will be available all morning.
If you haven’t made your mind up what to do this Sunday morning, log on here and sign yourself up! http://www.pistonheads.com/news/general/topcats-racing-sunday-service-28-08/34819
We look forward to seeing you!
We were extremely pleased to see that Les Edgar and the team at TVR were so well received at the London Motor Show by new customers looking to buy the car, deposit holders and the press. Whilst a reveal of the car wasn’t on the agenda for the show it was exciting to finally get an idea of its seductive proportions and hints of a few of its styling cues through the silk sheet. A very sexy scoop to the roofline and reassuringly mu…scular haunches will keep deposit holders very excited. Understandably, a full reveal of the car will be shown in the Summer once the few remaining small styling tweaks are set.
Orders for the Launch Edition have reached 400 and will be limited to 500 to safeguard exclusivity. The optional extras that will come as standard, as well as the i-Stream Carbon chassis, to the LE purchasers will no longer be available after the books are closed, for which a date has yet to be announced (Summer) but should coincide with the finished design of the car going public.
If you are considering purchasing the Launch Edition car and would like to talk to us with any questions you may have, please contact us at Topcats Racing (a member of the TVR Network) on 01296 655109 or email email@example.com.
What a monster event yesterday with the V8UK Full Power Launch 2016! This year’s event exceeded even last years numbers with over 300 cars arriving at Topcats Racing’s workshop facility near Aylesbury, Bucks!
With fantastic weather again, pumping music, V8 noise, food, drink and a dyno to enthral the crowds, which by the way was won by a stunning Camaro blowing the away the nearest rival by 125bhp with a staggering 749bhp!, it was impossible not to have a great time. The highlight? The convoy which may well be one of the biggest in the UK! It snaked up and over the Buckinghamshire hills and through the villages bringing people out of their houses to investigate the rumble! The response was great with waves and thumbs up! Thank you to all the drivers who drove carefully and with respect en route and back to Topcats Racing to enjoy the afternoon in the sunshine.
We would like to thank the boys from the V8UK Club for allowing us to host again this year.
A very big thank you to all those who took the time to make their cars beautiful and bring them to us for the event, some of whom had travelled far to get here. We were delighted to see our TVR, Corvette and Camaro guys arrive in force as well as all others who brought their amazing machines for everyone to view in wonderment!
Just 2 weeks until we host our 2nd Full Power Launch for the V8UK Club on Sunday, 3rd April from 9am until 1pm. Last year we had a ball! The convoy that we ran from our facilities was 1 1/2 miles long from nose to tail through beautiful, winding countryside. The number and range of cars that arrived was spectacular and again this year we will have our own exotic range of race and road cars on display. New this year will be the dyno run to test the most (and least!) powerful c…ars for those that have booked a slot. Please check with V8UK if you would like to book depending on availability.
There will be a number of awards for competitions; favourite car etc.
Bacon and sausage rolls, burgers etc. will be available to purchase on site.Refreshments will be complimentary. Accuweather predicts a dry and sunny day, just like last year so fingers crossed. We look forward to welcoming you on the 3rd April!

IMPORTANT: Please be aware that we are located on a private estate with CCTV covering the road infrastructure throughout. Please respect the speed limits and driving etiquette required. Tyre marks from donuts in other businesses car parks are hard to explain on Monday morning! Good feedback means that we can continue to host here. Thank you.
Now that we have entered the realms of 2016, the launch of the new TVR is tantalisingly close.
Whilst detailing of the car continues, the latest rendering of the new car looks excitingly true to its word that TVR’s unmistakable DNA will live on.
TVR lover’s hearts will have skipped a beat to receive much longed for news from TVR HQ just before Christmas with further positive news that will undoubtedly be provocative for potential new owners.
Followers and enthusiasts will already know the confirmed construction methods, utilising Gordon Murrays revolutionary i-Stream technology which offers incredible strength and rigidity whilst also extremely lightweight. This makes for a car that will benefit from less wear and tear on components thus reducing running costs, greater performance and fuel economy.
TVR are going another step further though. Whilst the order book remains open for customers even before final details of the car have been announced, and yes there is a certain amount of faith but no risk to buyers deposits involved, TVR have confirmed that those who do place their order before the order book closes will receive their car with the iStream Carbon variant that will be even lighter and stronger and at no extra cost. All customers who place their order before the closing date get the up-spec’d car.
Potential buyers who have not yet committed and are not just looking from the heart but towards future values must surely be giving this more serious consideration.
The punchline, Christmas has been and gone and we are well into the new year. Time will fly almost as fast as the car and TVR have announced that by mid 2016 they will be confirming the location of their new factory, body styling and pricing. This will be the point too at which they will confirm a closing date for the ‘no extra cost’ LE car. Once closed, order confirmations and queue positions will be given to the buyers.

We look forward to welcoming you to our events this year!
Today we have started on our latest Chevrolet LS engine conversion. It will be our 25th conversion for a TVR. The client has opted for an LS3 engine with Tremec T56 Magnum 6 speed gearbox which makes a big difference to fuel economy.
With our engineers only returning yesterday from racing at Sebring in America, the engine has already been removed and all the major components are ready to be installed. The client has already sold the outgoing Speed Six engine and gearbox which of course is offset against the cost of the conversion.
Included in the cost of the conversion and all brand new are, LS engine and run kit, gearbox and bellhousing, clutch, ECU, braided Goodridge hoses throughout, alternator, starter motor, oil cooler and mapping. There are multiple other parts and fabrications included which would take too long to list here but please contact us if you would like to know more.
We DO NOT modify or cut into the chassis at all as it is very important to us to preserve the integrity of the car. This would also allow the owner to retro fit the Speed Six back into the car if wanted.
Converting to LS power frees the owner of 12k mile tappet servicing, potential engine failure, clutch finger failure, slave cylinder failure and left hand engine mount failure.
The conversion is what we term, ‘drive-in/drive-out’. Once the engine has been installed and mapped, the client collects his car and from then on only basic servicing at a fraction of the price is required compared to the servicing and running costs of the Speed Six.
For owners of the LS conversion, they no longer need to go through the ritual of engine warming before driving the car nor do they need to listen out for strange or different engine noises.
Owners can enjoy the huge and wonderful linear delivery of power that the LS engine offers up at the press of the throttle pedal. LS3 will deliver 460+BHP as standard with the LS7 giving 565+BHP. For the most demanding of our customers we have even completed a Lingenfelter LS9 conversion pushing out an incredible 753BHP! Conversely, the driver can enjoy the smoothness of the engine at cruising speed and for urban driving. With a 5 or six speed gearbox it is surprisingly fuel efficient.
Many of our customer LS conversions compete in hillclimbs, sprints and speed trials as well as events at Nurburgring, Spa, Isle of Man and most of Europe. Even with long distance journeys and hard competition driving, there have been no issues with reliability.
Bear in mind that four of our race cars are LS powered and have raced and finished 24 hour races every year as well as competing in full seasons of racing too! The engines have been proven and tested to the limit for the last 10 years. In fact, we ran the LS7 TVR Sagaris driven by Steve Glynn that won Britcar Trophy this year.
If you would like more information or would like to come and have a look at our latest conversion in progress, please contact Warren Gilbert on 07850 698700 or email: email@example.com
With orders of the new TVR totalling just short of 300, as of Monday this week, since TVR Manufacturing opened their order book in July this year, more exciting news has been released to confirm details of the 2017 cars power plant.
To further encourage potential owners who may be sitting on the fence awaiting more concrete information, the dyno tests for TVR’s new Cosworth engineered Ford Coyote V8 far exceeded expectations when its torque output forced the test equipment to shut down and had to be reconfigured. AUTOCARs news feature and footage from the dyno test can be viewed here: http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/tvr-fires-v8-confirms-le-mans-2017-plans-exclusive-videos
With TVR’s scheduled release of its first road going cars to customers in mid 2017, it will surely be the UK automotive industries most significant moment in the past few years. If the general public haven’t already heard the news of our great British icon, TVR and its return, they will by then!
For the customer whose finger is still hovering over the ‘submit’ button, deposits are guaranteed if you pay by card. TVR are so confident too that if, when they release the images of the car, you don’t like it there is a no quibble return of your deposit. There is the added bonus too for TVR Car Club Members that they only need lay down £2500 deposit (half the normal £5000 deposit required).
Ready? Click on the link to join the others who can’t wait for 2017!! https://tvr.co.uk/deposit/topcats
We had a fantastic morning on Saturday when we welcomed 40 TVR’s, Corvettes and other sports cars to our Morning on the Ramps event. The ramps where busy from 9am until lunchtime to give car owners the opportunity to get a good look at their cars from underneath and our engineers were able to offer advice on repairs and upgrades, answer any questions and locate any faults or issues with the car.
All owners who had there cars inspected received a comprehensive inspection report by email that they can now keep for their records.
Visitors were free to wander around our workshop and cars and enjoy breakfast and refreshments with other car owners and enthusiasts. We are pleased that our free Topcats Car Club membership was so well received and they will all go on to enjoy the many benefits of becoming a member.
Owing to the success of the event we will hold another one next year with date to be announced.
