Topcats Racing open day, 10 Oct 2015

The Annual TVR Noughties event is on this Saturday, 23rd September at Topcats Racing from 10am!
All TVR’s are welcome to join us and the Bucks, Herts and Middx TVR Car Club for breakfast, courtesy of the team. Enjoy bacon rolls, pastries, tea, coffee and refreshments in our custom built workshop facility at Westcott Venture Park near Aylesbury, Bucks. You don’t have to be a car club member.
Once refreshed, why not benefit from a free ramp inspection with one of our engineers who will give your car a full top to bottom inspection, including a detailed report for your records.
We will of course have a range of cars on display in our 10,000sq.ft workshop to peruse and we will have a number of prizes to give away including a prize for the loudest car (using MSA approved monitor). There will be some exciting competitive challenges, pit stop style and a race simulator challenge with prizes for those who can beat a lap time that will be set on the morning by a 10 year old around Donington Park circuit! It will be harder to beat than you think!
As a TVR Network Member we will have lots of information and details on display and for you to take away for the new and fabulous TVR Griffith!
We will round the day off with the prize giving and for those who are continuing their day with the TVR Car Club will depart in convoy to the Coventry Motor Museum.
To find us, please don’t rely solely on your Sat Nav as the site is formerly MOD and the postcode can send you up the wrong road. Please check out our location on Google maps before you depart.
We are located just off the A41 between Aylesbury and Bicester. Follow the sign for Westcott from the A41 and the turning for Westcott Venture Park is almost immediately on your right.

We look forward to welcoming you on the 23rd!

The countdown to TVR Noughties begins!

Posted by | Posted in Latest News, Main | Posted on 02-09-2016

IMG_8924It’s the 1st of September which marks the countdown to a brand new event that we are very excited to be involved with…TVRCC TVR Noughties on 24th September, here at Topcats Racing!
Organised by TVRCC RO, Alex Gray, the event will celebrate the beautiful and breath-taking T-cars of the Peter Wheeler era when no holds were barred and TVR had their own rule book. Thank goodness for that because these cars look just as spectacular and unconventional now as they did when they left the quirky, curiosity shop that was the Blackpool TVR factory in the ‘noughties’!
As such, these cars and their creators deserve a raucous tribute. If you are a proud owner of one of these cars (all TVR’s are welcome to come and enjoy), don’t miss out on a momentous weekend from Friday 23rd – Sunday 25th September. The weekend programme is detailed below.
We will do our bit to put on a great show and add an injection of excitement at Topcats Racing’s custom built workshop facility on Saturday the 24th when cars from all over the country and Europe will descend upon us, many of which will arrive in convoy from base at Wroxhall Abbey.
We are concocting ideas for competitions, displays, prizes and a range of cars will be on display to treat all car enthusiasts. We will also be operating two of our ramps for the day for free car inspections with our engineers. You will be able to examine your car with them and ask any questions where they will be very happy to offer advice. This will be on a first come, first served basis and a list will be available to add your name.
You do not need to be a member of the TVRCC Club (although they might entice you to join on the day!). You do, however, need to be a TVR owner or someone who is considering buying one.
If you cannot participate in the whole weekend event, you will, of course, be very welcome to come and join us at Topcats Racing on Saturday 24th only.
Weekend details are here:

Welcome to the first of the TVR “Noughties” Weekends!
What is the Noughties weekend?
——————————————–
The TVR Noughties (“00″) weekend (and no, that is not the TVR naughty weekend!) is a weekend to bring together and celebrate all the marks of TVRs that were designed and made in the last
decade of the Wheeler era – mostly 1999-2006.
It takes place in the beautiful and centrally located Wroxall Abbey Estate in Warwickshire and features an entire weekend of TVR (and non-TVR) events, run-outs and a special visit down to
Topcats Racing (just outside of Aylesbury) for a day of TVR related fun.
And the weekend is not just for TVR enthusiasts! For those of us just interested in a great weekend out – Wroxall Abbey features a fantastic spa, sauna and health club where you can just
relax away the entire weekend with massages, walks, swimming or just plain sleeping around – whatever you like!
Where is the event based?
———————————–
The event will be based at Wroxall Abbey Estate in Warwickshire.
Wroxall Abbey Hotel & Estate
Birmingham Road
Wroxall
Warwickshire, CV35 7NB

You will have the run of a 27 acre estate with spa, tennis, pools and sports club facilities.
There are massages, beauty treatments and heated pools to help you relax or just idle the weekend away.
A sample video of the hotel can be found here

What is happening during the weekend?
—————————————————–
Here is a quick summary of the planned events for the weekend. The exact details are still being finalised, but will be updated as soon as they are.

If enough people arrive early and the weather is good, then there will be the opportunity for a run-out before dinner around the backroads of Warwickshire on a special route prepared by the hotel with cars in mind.
Dinner will start at about 1930-2000 and will comprise of a BBQ on the terrace with dessert.
After dinner, much talking and (moderate – of course!) drinks consumption will take place.
Saturday 24th Sept
————————–
There are two main strands of events that will be running on the Saturday. The first is for those who are more petrolhead orientated and like to see power machines at play, whilst the second is for those who prefer a more sedate day out.
>Event track 1<
At about 0930-0945 there will be a run-out down to Topcats Racing just outside of Aylesbury for a specially reserved day out where the focus will be on TVRs, Marcoses, Racing cars and other assorted exotica. There will also be various unique TVRs on display and other items yet to be confirmed.

– Engine conversions to LS (detailed walkthrough)
– Racing talks
– …and others!
Entry to the event will be limited to attendees of the weekend. Topcat specialists will be on hand all day to offer advice or inspections as needed.
A concourse event will also be run through out the day with prizes going to 3 of the best cars on the day.
The event will run till about 1600 or so, then we will do a lazy run back to Wroxall for the evening event.
>Event track 2<
For those not interested in cars or who just want a nice relaxing day, then all the facilities at Wroxall will be available for your use. See here for more information.

Topcats Racing’s New Home is Almost Finished!

Posted by | Posted in Latest News | Posted on 28-03-2014

Workshop 1Topcats Racing is in the final stages of completion with the development of their brand new, custom built 8000sq.ft workshop at Westcott Venture Park, Near Aylesbury. The building has been designed to incl. 7 ramps in the main workshop that will allow the team to expand and develop the logistics and services of their TVR, Marcos and special projects division. It will also allow them to expand their racing division. Multiple ramps will enable the team to carry out LS engine conversions concurrently, reducing build times.

Logo signTopcats Racing have also built in an MOT station which has been approved for cars and Class 7 light goods vehicles. The scale and design of the building will allow permanent indoor storage for their state of the art race transporter with room to spare for long and short term storage of customer cars.

In tune with car owners who enjoy working on their own cars, Topcats Racing will have a dedicated ramp with its own set of tools that will allow customers to book ramp time in the safety, convenience and comfort of our workshop.

Topcats want to maintain the personal and inclusive relationship they enjoy with their customers and are incorporating an area for customers where they can relax and view their cars from the upstairs gallery.  Topcats will also be announcing dates for the Saturday Club which will be free to our customers where they can congregate and tinker with their cars, enjoy a coffee and a chat. Depending on idea’s and feedback, Topcats are hoping to introduce a few ‘workshops’ and activities to the club.

Director, Warren Gilbert, added, ‘We have had to wait a long time to turn our plans for this building into reality. We can now finally offer a bigger and better service to our customers. We have increased our workspace seven-fold and this means we can implement our new ideas, add services and reduce or even eliminate waiting times to provide a customer experience that we believe will be second to none’.

Topcats estimate that they will be opening the doors to their new facility in 4-6 weeks. In the meantime, it’s business as usual!

Please feel free to visit us. All we ask is that you call in advance and we will be delighted to show you around.
